Five by *Polter6eist The narrator's unreliability adds a wonderfully twisted atmosphere to this minimal vignette.

For my English class, about a week ago, we had to write a short short story, between 500 and 1000 words. This was my end result...

I read it out loud in class and when I finished, everyone was really quiet and just stared at me. It was kind of freaky ^^;
But, then again, the story itself is kind of freaky...

Haha, anyway, comments are always welcome - as well as advice - and I hope you all enjoy :meow:

Oh...oh my...my first DD...
Guys, I have no words to express my gratitude for this! Thank you. Thank you all so much! I promise, I will read through all of your comments and reply eventually! I'm getting so many, it's making me giddy.
Thank you to everyone who has commented and favorited this piece. I'm so happy that people enjoyed it! And thank you so much, also, to all you wonderful deviants who gave me some constructive criticism and pointed out some grammatical and spelling mistakes. Those have been fixed.
You can't imagine how much motivation this gives me to continue developing my respective works. Hopefully, I'll actually get something finished now! You've all given me so much hope. :hug:

And a big thank you, of course, to ^neurotype, who featured my piece. And my good friend ~EllriNidhogg, because I know he had a hand in this! The sneaky little bugger. Go check out his stuff. He's awesome! :XD:

Again, thank you everyone!

I read this ages ago, and I still find myself drawn to it every so often. I find it chilling and comforting every time I read it, no matter how many times I've read it before. Nice job!
